This branding project was developed for Collegiate Co-op Coffee, a student-driven business concept that competed in the New Venture Competition and went on to win the Impact Award. The company’s vision was to build a co-op coffee shop where college students and alumni could gather to enjoy high-quality coffee, study, connect, and build community.
The identity needed to reflect both the collaborative spirit of a co-op and the welcoming nature of a campus hangout. I began by designing a logo that balanced approachability with structure, drawing on collegiate aesthetics without leaning too heavily into tradition. The original blue color palette felt calm but lacked the energy needed to make the brand pop. After refinement, I shifted the palette to bold oranges and rich blacks, injecting a sense of modernity and vibrancy while maintaining the grounded, cozy feel of the original concept.
This project gave me the opportunity to align visual storytelling with entrepreneurial goals, and to see how strong design can help shape a compelling and award-winning pitch.
